The American Legion Aux
iliary, with the help from
some local people, placed
more than 180 flags on the
graves of veterans.
Auxiliary members of
fer apologies if any graves
were missed, an uninten
tional oversight, but say
that highlights the need for
community involvement.
Since there is no list of
area veterans’ names and
^
grave locations, the only
way currently to locate
veterans’ graves is to walk
the cemetery and read each
stone. Anyone who had a
loved on missed in the pro
cess and who would like a
flag in the future is asked to
give the Auxiliary the name
so they can place a flag
next year or provide flags
for individuals to place
themselves.
The Auxiliary also is
compiling a list of names
for reference for next year
and needs the community’s
help in doing so. Call 541-
676-9483 to give informa
tion; if no answer, leave a
message.
