Ski club faces stiff
winds, fresh snow
Members of the Nordic ski club faced brisk winds on Feb. 25,
but fresh snow made lip for it. After parking at the junction of
Road 53/21, the group skied east. A light snow fell after lunch
as they made our way back along the 750 Road. The days
participants were (L-R): Dan Van Liew, Sherry Ewing, Molly
Rhea, Luanne Brownfield, Jonathan Enz, Christy Crowell,
Bill Ewing and John Edmundson. The group will meet next
Friday morning in Hood River for their trip to Cloud Cap.
Heppner Elementary School staff and students celebrated Dr.
Seuss's birthday on Thursday, March I by reading his books
together. Older students read with the younger students, and
some students won Dr. Seuss books and DVDs. The Cat in the
Hat also made an appearance and shared the love of reading
with the students. (L-R): Suzy Cason, Keegin Chitty, the Cat in
the Hat, Landon Mitchell, Keegan Gibbs and Cason Mitchell.
