SWCD board will meet
on Tuesday, February 7 at
1 p.m. in the Ag Service
Center at 430 W Linden
Way in Heppner. The regu­
lar meeting agenda includes
January 12 meeting min­
utes and treasurer's report,
partnership reports, written
staff reports and vacant staff
position discussion.
M eetings o f the
l he Morrow County Livestock Growers will be
holding a meeting Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. at
the OSU Extension Office in 1 leppner. Officer elections
will be held at this time. The meetings are open to the
public. For questions or more information, contact the

C h a m b e r lunch m eeting
The Heppner Chamber of Commerce’s next lunch
meeting will be an all entities report on Wednesday, Feb­
ruary 1 at noon at All Saints Episcopal Church. Cost for
lunch is $9; Howe's About Pizza will be catering. Those
planning on attending are asked to RSVP no later than
the previous Wednesday.
USDA invests in
Boardman plant
DA’s Report
The Morrow Coun­
ty District Attorney’s office
has released the following
report:
-David Earl Terrell
Taylor, 22, pled no contest
to one count each of In­
terference with Making a
Report and Harrassment,
Class A and Class Be mis­
demeanors, respectively. In­
carceration of 180 days and
90 days was suspended and
the defendant sentenced to
18 months Bench Probation
on each count. Some condi­
tions of probation included
a total of 100 hours of com­
munity service, an anger
management program, no
offensive physical contact
with the victim and a writ­
ten apology to the victim,
submitted to the Morrow
County DA’s office. Total
fines, fees and assessments
were $2,066.
The U S. Depart­
ment ofAgriculture (USDA)
recently announced that
ZeaChem Inc. has been
selected for a $232.5 mil­
lion USDA loan guarantee
to help the construction of
ZeaChem’s first commer­
cial scale cellulosic biore­
finery, which is already in
development at the Port of
Morrow in Boardman. •
The state-of-the-art
facility will turn woody bio­
mass and agricultural waste
into fuel. It is expected to
have capacity for 25 million
gallons per year of cellulos­
ic ethanol. The new facility
will create 188 construction
jobs and 65 full-time opera­
tions jobs in Boardman. The

USDA’s announcement of
the $232.5 m illion loan
guarantee comes from the

tance Program.

Sheriff’s Report
The Mo r r o w
County Sheriff’s Office
reports handling the fol­
lowing business:

(cont.): -A man went into
MCSO in H eppner and
reported that a female sent
him a fraudulent check to
buy a generator from him.
He stated he took the check
to the bank and they deter­
mined that it was a fake
check. He will be at home
for contact.
-A w om an from
Irrigon called MCSO to
report that a white pit bull
was in their yard. It is the
neighbor’s dog; it’s charg­
ing them and won’t let them
in their own home. Owners
live on the same side of the
street. The dog’s name is
Angel.
-MCSO was no­
tified that Oregon State
Police arrested Miguel Fu­
entes-Carrillo on a Morrow
County Court warrant for
failure to appear/resisting
arrest and giving false info,
as well as an Irrigon Justice
Court warrant for failure to
appear/no angling license.
The subject was lodged at
Umatilla County Jail with
a UCSO w arrant and a
MCSO hold placed.
-MCSO issued a
citation to Maria Silvia Soto
Zepeda, 35, for violating
the basic rule by driving 75
mph in a 55 mph zone.
-MCSO received
a call from a man who
said he was released from
jail on Thursday afternoon
and went home and found
that his dog and camera
were missing. Caller stated
that his neighbors stated
they saw deputies at his
residence while he was in
jail. He would like contact
regarding this to see if the
deputies know where the
dog and camera are.
-A caller from Ir­
rigon reported that there
was a man and a woman
with a small girl walking
westbound on the north side
of the highway; the man
and the woman were pay­
ing no attention to the girl
and she almost got hit by a
semi. The girl is wearing
a pink coat and pink pants
with really frizzy black
hair. The man is wearing a
dark hoodie and the female
is wearing a light-colored
hoodie.
-A man called BPD
requesting an officer to
make contact at his house
in Boardman. The man was
headed to the house and his
wife was there. She went to
work that morning at 8 a.m.
and when she went home
for lunch, the place was
burgled. She said a Wii and
several other things were
missing.
N o v e m b e r 19:
-MCSO issued a citation to
Juan Antonio Lemus Gar­
cia, 30, for driving without
insurance. The subject was
also issued a verbal warning
for failure to dim.
-MCSO issued a ci­
tation to a 25-year-old male
for driving while suspended
and driving uninsured. Sub-
