Sam Sumner to be inducted
into college baseball hall of
fame
Sam Sumner, 1994
Heppner High School gradu­
ate, is being inducted into
the College of Idaho baseball
o f Fame along with his col­
lege baseball teammates at a
ceremony planned Thursday,
September 22.
Sumner, who grew
up in Lexington, was a part
o f the first College o f Idaho
(formerly Albertsons College)
baseball team ever to win a
national baseball champion­
ship.
The team won the
championship by beating the
Indiana Tech University, 6-3,
