Library summer
reading winds down
The Heppner branch of the Oregon Trail Library
District is getting ready to wrap up its summer reading
program, with only two Fridays left this*summer. Though
thi*Friday is the last day to add to book logs, the reading
pr&gram will continue through August 5.
The reading program for July 29 will be “Global
Citizens” at 10:30 a.m., with a showing o f “Inkheart” at
2 p.m.
August 5 will wrap up summer reading with
“Away We Go” at 10:30 a.m. and the movie, “Surf’s
Up,” at 2 p.m.
Though the summer reading program is about to
end, the Heppner library will continue to offer story hour
and special events throughout the year. Stop by the library

The shared ministry of Hope Lutheran Church
and All Saints Episcopal Church will be moving outdoors
for worship this Sunday.
An informal communion service, including some
of the fun songs from Vacation Bible School and First
Fridays, will begin at 10 a.m. in the city park next to the
library.
Worship will be followed by a potluck picnic.
Grills, tableware, condiments and drinks will be provided.
Those who attend are asked to bring a main dish, salad
or dessert to share, their own meat to grill (optional), and
lawn chairs. Everyone in the community is welcome.
