NRCS to host information Over the Te<f Cup

Resources Conservation
Service (NRCS) will be
hosting a meeting to gather
input regarding the natu
ral resource opportunities
and priorities across the
county.
The Morrow Coun
ty strategic conservation
community meeting will
be held July 14 from 1 to 3
p.m. at the USDA Service
Center conference room at
430 Linden Way in Hep
pner.
The goal o f the
meeting is to “bring togeth
er individuals with a variety
of expertise and knowledge,
allowing NRCS and oth
ers to build on collective
successes while focusing
efforts to make the greatest
impact with available staff
and funding.”
The NRCS is seek-
ing help to identify where
the best investments can
be made to address natural
resource problem s, find
out what work has already
been done in the county and
learn community members’
visions for what the county
will look like when these
natural resource concerns
have been solved.
The NRCS w ill
be using the information
provided to create a long-
range strategy for Mor
row County. This will help
guide conservation efforts
and funding over the next
five to 10 years.

help all of us work towards
a stronger, healthier more
economically viable com
munity and agricultural in
dustry,” states the NRCS.

Twelve teams of golfers competed over two days
in a four-woman Best Ball event. The 48 players came
from throughout the states of Oregon and Washington.
A chip-off was held to break a tie for low net of
the field. The winners of the primarily “net” tournament
were the Hood River and Indian Creek team of Kathie
Guthrie, Marty Losee, Cynthia Brocklesby and Elizabeth
Whelan.

of the City of Heppner is imposing a
C L O S E D S E A S O N for open burning
based on local fire safety concerns.
This burning ban is for the City of Heppner.
A reminder that open burning also
includes a “burn barrel."
The closed season will remain in effect
until further notice this fall as per O R S 478.960.
