tra on Wednesday, May 25
at 7:30 p.m. in the MacK-
enzie Concert Hall.
Jepsen entered a
concerto competition with
the G rande Ronde Sym
phony in February and was
selected along with three
other soloists to perform in
the May concert. The sym
phony is under the direction
o f Leandro Espinosa and
is com prised o f college,
fac u lty and com m unity
members from the Grande
Ronde Valley area. Jepsen
has been playing violin for
13 years, and studies with
Lisa Robertson o f Eastern
Oregon University.
On May 26, Jepsen
will be singing as a mem
ber of the Eastern Oregon
University Concert Choir.
He will also accompany the
group on violin for three se
lections from the Broadway
show. The Lion King. The
choir concert begins at 7:30
in the MacKenzie Concert
Hall. Tickets are available
at the door for both events.

Tupper Outdoor School, which started in 1973,
teaches 6th grade students in Heppner and lone a variety
o f outdoor classes. Tupper Work Center is the Forest
Service’s fire training camp, and is located about 40 miles
from Heppner near Madison Butte.
They students are in the mountains Monday
through Thursday. They experience a variety o f outdoor
classes ranging from Forest Study to Wildlife to Soil
Study.
Studens went to Bull Prairie reservoir (in neigh
boring Wheeler County) last Wednesday. There, they had
classes in water study, fish dissection and survival. In the
afternoon they fished, hiked and cooked Hobo Stew over
their campfires.
