BMCC offers retirement planning
and investment courses
Blue Mountai n
Community College will
have a three part education
course to help residents of
Morrow County plan and
save for retirement.
The classes are be­
ing offered as a three part
series; Retirement Basics,
Retirement Income Plan­
ning, and Investment Ba­
sics. The courses comple­
ment one another and can
be taken as a series or they
can be taken independently
depending on individual
knowledge and needs. The
classes will be taught by
Rita Van Schoiack, a finan-
cial advisor, owner of Blue
Mountain Investment Man­
agement in Heppner.
The goal of the
courses is to help attendees
gain the skills to estimate
how much money they
need to retire, learn how
to create retirement goals,-
review investment basics,
and more.
The series is be­
ing offered in April and
will meet at the “Pettyjohn
Building” in the large con­
ference room, 430 W Lin­
den Way, in Heppner. The
classes meet from 7-8:30
p.m. on three Mondays:

Rowan Day Medical Fund set up
at Heppner Community Bank
A medical fund has been established in the name of Rowan Day Fund, Heppner
Community Bank, PO Box 278, Heppner, OR 97836.
Rowan is the 17 month old son of Jon and Kate Day, Heppner and is recovering
from surgery removing a large Wilm’s Tumor along with one of his kidneys at Doem-
becher Children’s Hospital, at OHSU. Rowan has started 10 weeks of chemotherapy
treatments at Doembechers’ and then treatments every three weeks. You can check up
