Boardman applies for grant for South Main Street improvements
The Boardman City
Council recently passed
Resolution 17-2010, sup
porting application for a
Transportation Enhance
ment Grant for improve
ments to South Main Street.
The grant is administered
through the Oregon Depart
ment of Transportation and
is the same grant the city
has applied for over the last
eight years.
In June o f this
year, with a grant from
the Oregon Department
o f Transportation, the city
widened South Main Street
and added curbs and side
walks from the Interstate
overpass to the Bonneville
power transmission lines.
The city plans to do the
same type of improvements
to the remaining portion o f
South Main Street where
it intersects with Wilson
Lane. If awarded the grant,
the city will be receiving the
funds in 2013.
In other city busi
ness, the council approved
spending up to $7000 to
widen a curb in the newly
com p leted South Main
Street project. They gave
permission for Prancing
Horse, LLC to develop four
new homes, also the council
agreed to a Memorandum
o f Understanding with the
U.S. Bureau of Land Man
agement designating the
city as a cooperating agen
cy for participation in the
Idaho Power Transmission
Line Project meetings.
