Morrow County Court weekly meeting held
Road: The crew is continu­
ing with filling the wider
cracks from Blake Ranch
Road to Cutsforth Park.
As of Wednesday the 25,h
the only section remaining
to be repaired is one lane
from Black Mountain Lane
down to the Blakd Ranch
Road and that should be
completed by the end of
the week. Blake Ranch
Road: The crew continues
widening some of the roads
and comers as needed. Cur­
rently, the crew is installing
gabion baskets along one
section of the road as well
The Morrow Coun­
ty Court met on August
25 in Heppner with Judge
Tallman and Commission­
ers Grieb and Rea in at­
tendance. Following is a
summary o f the meeting
provided by Leann Rea.
The court reviewed
and approved the minutes
from the August 18,h meet­
ing.
The court reviewed
and approved the account
payables in the net total
amount of $ 178,712.96.
Road Report

as continuing with brush
removal along both sides
of the road. Crusher: The
crusher at the OH V pit con­
tinues to crush rock.
Contracts
Reviewed and ap­
proved Amendment # 1 for
Agreement #132026 with
the State o f Oregon act­
ing through the D epart­
ment of Human Services
to reflect $1,224 more in
the Tobacco Prevention &
Education Program and
$32,500 more for Phase #1
on the Healthy Communi­
ties Program. The court re­
viewed and approved a five
year agreement between
Morrow County and Brian
Thom pson (ow ner) and
Marvin Fast (mineral rights
owner) for a proposed rock
pit in the Lunchford Can­
yon area.
Parole and Probation
Ms. Wolff on be­
half of Parole and Probation
Supervisor, Dan Robbins
presented a request to the
court to hire Deputy John
Bowles to fill the position of
the parole and probation of­
ficer. After some discussion
the request was granted.
The court conduct­
ed the following business:
Approved the payment of
the fee to the Government
Ethics Commission and the
payment o f membership
fees to Community Renew­
able Energy Association.
The court approved a pur­
chasing pre-authorization
for the Public Health De­
partment for a new laptop
computer in the amount
of $1,667. Reviewed and
signed the Ordinance for
the Vacation of a Portion of
County Road Number 971.
The court reviewed and
approved sending a letter
to Rear A dm iral D oug­
lass T. Biesel regarding a
mem orandum o f under­
standing regarding the pos­
sible placement o f power
transmission lines across
the northern boundary of
the Bombing Range.
Various correspon­
dences and upcoming meet­
ing notices were reviewed
and discussed.
