Awana Club plans bowling
party
‘The Willow
Creek Baptist Awana Club
is sponsoring their second
free bow ling party this
Sunday, July 18, from 4 to
6 p.m. at the Stable of Youth
in Heppner.
Pizza and
drinks will be provided.
The club is open
to all kids between four
years of age through sixth
grade. Parents are welcome
to attend.
Awana is a non-
denominational organiza­
tion. Their main focus is
Bible memorization and
numerous games for the
kids. Regular club meet­
ings will start up in mid
September and will be held
every Thursday from 6:30
to 8 p.m.

County Unified Recreation District and PGE. The event
is sponsored by North Morrow Community Foundation
and Irrigon Watermelon Festival and is presented each
year by MP5+.

Program set on native people of
the Columbia
A program about the native people along the Co­
lumbia River and the trade and commerce they developed
will be held on Wednesday, July 14, starting at 7 p.m. on
Irrigon City Hall, 500 NE Main Avenue, Irrigon.
The program, presented by Pat Courtney Gold,
an historian/scholar on the Confederated Tribes of Warm
Springs will explore the 12,000 years of international
commerce and trade along the Columbia. Everyone is
invited to attend and learn about the rich heritage of these
early prosperous indigenous people.
