Former Heppner resident appears
on “America’s Got Talent”
Effective July 7, 2009, the Fire Chief
of the City of Heppner is imposing a
C L O S E D S E A S O N for open burning
based on local fire safety concerns.
This burning ban is for the City of Heppner.
A reminder that open burning also
includes a “ burn barrel.”
The closed season will remain in effect
until further notice this fall as per ORS 478.960.

Former Heppner resident Sally Cohn, 75, recently
appeared on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” to audition
using her handwhistling skills. Cohn progressed to the
next stage of competition to be held in Las Vegas which
will air at a later date.
Cohn wrote “A Handwhistler” in 2006. Her audi­
tion video from “America’s Got Talent” can be viewed
at www.youtube.com.
