If I wanted to destroy America...
To the Editor:
If I wanted to destroy America this is what I
would do:
-Take control o f the Associated Press, so that
my practices o f bribery, extortion, destroying political
enemies, and backroom deals would not be exposed.
•Take control of the financial system, so that only
the government can borrow money.
-Enact huge spending programs, requiring the
government to borrow huge sums of money from our
enemies.
-Take control of all lands and waters that contain
natural resources, and make those natural resources inac
cessible for production purposes.
-Pass laws that give labor unions the power to
strangle federal, state, and local budgets and make large
corporations unprofitable.
-Promote a Godless society by teaching children
that God had nothing to do with the founding o f this
country.
-Promote immorality by passing laws allowing
the unnatural formation o f families and making it easy
for women to dispose of their unwanted babies.
-Enslave the people to the government.
-Enact huge tax increases on the few that still pay
taxes to take away their incentive to produce.
-Weaken our military, insult our allies, and bow
to our enemies.
Oh, isn’t that what our President is doing?

Where is the sense of fair play
and justice?
To the Editor:
We feel that including the City o f Irrigon as a
member in the Implementing LRA would be a smart move
for several reasons. Irrigon has shown due diligence in
preparing an organized, detailed, and well thought out
NOI. The same cannot be said o f the larger entities (the
county, ports, etcetera), who wish to exclude Irrigon.
The location o f Irrigon, adjacent to the depot, and the
number of people living in Irrigon and employed at the
depot clearly indicate that they have a large stake in the
outcomes of implementation. Common sense dictates that
they must be involved in Implementing LRA. Finally, it
appears that Irrigon is being pushed into the background
by the bigger entities who want the “whole pie” to them
selves. Where is the sense o f fair play and justice in all
of this? We can do better than this.
