Boardman adopts 2010-2011 city and URA budgets
During their June

Morrow County Dryland Crop Tour set for June 18
This year’s Dry
land Crop Tour will focus
on variety selection and
weed control options for
fallow-based systems.
The tour will begin
at 2 p.m. on Friday after
noon, June 18. A social (5
p.m.) and steak dinner (6
p.m.), offered at the con
clusion o f the tour, will
take place at the Mader-
Rust Farm on Butter Creek.
Participants are asked to
contribute to the dinner
by bringing a salad (A-H);
side-dish (I-Q), or dessert
(R-Z).
A group will depart
from the school district
building in Lexington at
1:45 p.m. for the first tour
stop.

United Way Charity Golf Tournament to be held
A benefit for the
United Way of Umatilla
and Morrow counties will
be held on June 18 at Wild-
horse Championship Golf
Course in Pendleton.
Tee time will begin
with a shotgun start at 8
a.m. The entry fee is $100
per player or $400 per four
some and includes green
fees, cart, range balls, tee
prizes, lunch, non-alcoholic
beverages and side bets
(K .P.’s, Long Putts and
Long Drives).

four-person shamble with
two best scores per hole
(best drive with each team
member playing their own
ball from there). Prizes
will be awarded for four
places in team gross and net
(modified handicap).
The deadline to
sign up is 5 p.m. Monday,
June 14. The field will be
limited to 32 teams.

Parishes to hold
vacation school
St. Patrick and St.
William Parishes will hold
their annual vacation school
June 14 - 17 at St. Patrick
Parish Hall.
C lasses w ill be
held from 9 a.m. - noon
each day and are intended
for children ages five to
junior high. The topic this
year will be about Joseph’s
journey from slavery to
freedom, from prison to
palace. The children will
learn how Joseph became
an advisor to the king, and
that he forgave his broth
ers. There will be dramas,
games, and activities which
will include making toys
and wearing Egyptian cos
tumes. All are welcome.
