County Court holds weekly meeting
The Morrow Coun­
ty Court met on February
3 at Heppner with Judge
Terry Tallman, Commis­
sioner Ken Grieb and Com­
missioner LeAnn Rea in
attendance.
The court reviewed
and approved the minutes
of January.
The court reviewed
and approved accounts
payable in the amount of
$50,645.44.
Road Dept.:
Bom bing Range Road
Project: The concrete foot­
ing for the large culvert was
poured, and the other half
of the large culvert was put
together. The inlet retaining
wall for the large culvert
was formed and poured.
The forms on the retaining
wall will be removed and
backfilling the end of the
culvert w ill be finished. Fill
material has been hauled for
the sub grade on the Bomb­
ing Range Road portion of
the project, by the end of
this week that section of
the road should be to sub
grade level. Also ripped
up the old asphalt on Straw­
berry Lane and processed
that into fill material. The
Strawberry Lane piece of
the project will be worked
on by hauling fill material
to build that section of road
to sub grade. Lexington
Grange road: Finished
the shoulder work along
Lexington Grange Road
from Hwy 207 to Baseline
Lane on February 1. Fin­
ished hauling gravel over
the base rock and rolled the
shoulders one more time.
Then the equipment was
moved from there to Rhea
Creek Road. Rhea Creek
Road: Started working on
the- shoulders along Rhea
Creek Road by hauling base
rock from Brenner Canyon
junction heading north to­
wards lone. The shoulders
are being building up as
needed. Will continue this
project until the material at
the Rhea Creek pit is gone.
Misc.: Continuing to work
on the detour routes for
the Bombing Range Road
project. The crew has been
plowing snow on Sunflower
Flat Road, Willow Creek
Road and Coalmine Hill.
Coalmine is open to the top
of the turn around at the top
of the hill.
Sheriff’s Report:
The sheriff provided the
following report to the
court:
Heppner/Ione/
Lexington area: A rollover
accident on Hwy. 207 and
the recovery of a stolen
vehicle in the Heppner area.
Irrigon area: a juvenile

to a fellow student, two
separate house fires, arson
not suspected in either case,
and a male with mental
issues. Boardman area:
A marine call with a dog
being swept down stream,
an incident of a shot being
fired at a w indshield on the
1-84, a residence with a
chimney fire. Mountains:
assisted with a search and
rescue of an individual
that slid off the road while
attempting to turn their
vehicle around.
The
court
conducted the following

Paint Report for the month
of January was reviewed.

Several letters of support
were reviewed and signed
for the Port of Morrow.
A letter of support for the
city of Milton-Freewater
for the Northeast Regional
Housing
Rehabilitation
Program was signed. A
letter requesting a meeting
regarding several issues
was reviewed, signed and
prepared to go to the Navy
Northwest Region. Misc.
correspondences
and
notices for meetings were
reviewed.
