Weed Advisory/Morrow SWCD
Board meeting to be held
Morrow SWCD and Morrow County Weed Ad­
visory will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, February
2, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Ag Service Building on 430
W. Linden Way in Heppner. Items on the agenda include
Weed Supervisor report, January meeting minutes and
treasurer’s report, written staff report, lease update, RFP,
2010 WFD update and partner agency reports.
Meetings o f the Morrow SWCD are open to the
public. The meeting location is accessible to persons with
disabilities. A request for an interpreter for the hearing
impaired or for other accommodations for persons with
disabilities should be made at least 48 hours before the

Boardman adopts 2009 Strategic Plan

2009 Strategic Plan during
Tuesday night’s meeting.
The Strategic Plan

achieve for B o ard m an ’s
com m unity vision to be
realized. After months o f
updating the city’s current
plan, the council felt they
have come up with a plan
which identifies very clear
goals for completion.

city hosted a Town Hall
meeting to get input from
the public regarding the
proposed updates to the
Strategic Plan, which were
drafted a fter a day-long
workshop the council held
in September. Mayor Phil­
lips felt the public’s input
was a very important part
o f the city’s planning pro­
cess. The last time the city
reviewed its Strategic Plan
was in 2005. The city plans
to do an annual review of
the 2009 Strategic Plan and
is committed to its imple-
m en ta tio n and to m ake
changes as necessary.
In other city news,
the council approved an
extension o f the Real Estate
Agent Fee Agreement for
the realtor handling the sale
o f the city’s Tower Road
property to Love’s Travel
Stops. They also appointed
Councilor Randy Yates to
serve as the 2010 council
president. The Mayor wrote
letters o f support for a Co­
lumbia River Community
Health Services grant ap­
plication, and a Zeachem
grant application.

Friends of the Heppner
Library accepting donations
Sally Walker and Pat Edmundson place one of several Friends
of the Heppner Library Donation Plaques on a revolving pa­
perback bookstand in the Heppner Library. The Friends of
the Heppner Library finance these donations through money
raised at their annual St. Pat's Book Sale. Anyone wishing to
donate gently used books for this year's sale may drop their
books off at the office of Spicer/Kuhn or the Heppner Library.
The sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 12 and
