Eat at the fair
Along with the 4-H Snack Shack, outside will be Fer
nando’s Mexican Food from Hermiston with delicious enchiladas,
burritos, tacos, and much more.
We will have the Shiver Zone back again this year for
their delicious shaved ice. So come and have a cool treat this
year.
This year M urray’s Drug will have espresso bar drinks-
hot and cold. And don’t forget the Ice Cream Social sponsored by
Columbia River Processing, Inc. of Boardman. The Fair Board
members will once again be serving.
Sweet Productions will be in the kitchen by the Fair
Office with sandwiches, ice cream, funnel cakes, elephant ears,
etc. So come and try out the many different foods at the Fair this
year. Howe’s About Pizza and Dino’s Délectables arc paring up
for concessions this year with pizza and barbequed items. So
come on down and eat at the Fair where there is something for
everyone.
Come watch the Painted Hills Beef
Backyard Grill-Off
Is the secret in the spices, the sauce or the smoke?
Painted Hills Beef is providing amateur backyard grill-
ers an opportunity to during the 2nd annual Painted Hills Beef
Backyard Grill-Off scheduled for August 6, at Morrow County
Fair.
Grilling teams will be provided with Painted Hills Natu
ral Beef for grilling, team gifts, and great prizes. 1st place prize
is a Traeger Lil Tex Wood Pellet Grill and ribbon; second place
prize is a Kershaw Knife Set and a ribbon and third place prize
is a grill accessory kit and a ribbon!
The first-place winners o f Painted Hills Beef Backyard
Grill-Off from participating county fairs will meet for a final
competition at the Oregon State Fair on Sunday, August 30. Teams
will compete to win a Traeger Texas Wood Pellet Grill or one or
many other big prizes.

Chili cook-off to
be held
A Chili Cook-Off Con
test will be held this year on
Friday, August 7, at the Morrow
County Fair. All ages arc invited
to participate.
Cooking will begin at
9 a.m. and judging will begin at
noon. Cash prizes will be awarded
for first, second and third place
winners.
Rule for the competition
are:
-Precook meat o f any kind.
-Presoak beans.
-Fresh ingredients only. No
canned chili or tomatoes.
-Put together all ingredients
at the contest site.
-All cookware is provided by
contestant (silverware, BBQ's,
ingredients, etc.)
-Contestants must have cur
rent food handlers’ card.
-Must cook 4 quarts or more
o f chili.
-Recipe display is optional.
-Judge on taste!
-Fair will provide 3 oz. bowls
for sampling.
