Court met on April 22 in
Heppner with Judge Tail-
man, Commissioner Grieb
and Commissioner Rea in
attendance. Following is a
summary o f those meeting
provided by Leann Rea.
The Court approved
the following minutes: Feb­
ruary 2, 2009, February 4,
2009, February 26,2009 and
March 4, 2009.
The court approved

Following this meet­
ing the court moved to the
annex for the budget hear­
ings which were held on the
22nd, 23rd and 24th of April.
On A p ril 24 the
court held a brief meeting
to review and sign a let­
ter o f support for the Port
o f M orrow ’s application
for federal funding for the
newly proposed interchange
in the area o f the Hwy 730
and 184 interchange.

The lone Chapter of
the National Honor Society
and the lone High School
Track Team hosted their
fourth annual Youth Track
Meet on Sunday, April 25,
in lone.
Under sunny skies,
over 20 kids ran, jumped, and
threw in seven events. Not
only was the event an oppor­
tunity for the kids in the area
to test their skills in track
and field, but also, through
donations, raised $200 for
the Creative Care Preschool
in lone. Spectators, com ­
petitors, and helpers alike
all enjoyed the activities and
are looking forward towards
next year’s meet.

DA’s Report
Morrow County District Attorney Elizabeth Bal­
lard has released the following report:
-William Ellis Looney, 33, was convicted o f at­
tempt to commit a Class A felony (A rson-1), a Class B
felony, and was sentenced to three years supervised pro­
bation and other numerous conditions. Looney was also
convicted o f criminal mischief in the second degree, a class
A misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 24 months bench
probation, complete 40 hours o f community service and
other numerous conditions. Total fines, fees and assess­
ments were$2,011.
-Travis Leroy Davis, 34, was convicted o f pos­
session o f methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and was
sentenced to five months in the custody of the Oregon
Department o f Corrections, one year post-prison supervi­
sion, other numerous conditions, and pay $528 in fines,
fees and assessments.
-Joel Lomas Murillo, 23, was convicted o f harass­
ment, a Class B misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 90
days incarceration with 90 days suspended, 12 months
bench probation, other numerous conditions, and pay $483
in fines, fees and assessments.
