Cutsforth, 73, o f Heppner
died Tuesday, Septem ber
2, 2008, at St. Mary Medi­
cal Center in Walla Walla,
WA.
The sixth o f their
seven children, he was bom
January 5,1935 at Lexington
to Orv ille and Alta Pettyjohn
Cutsforth. He spent most of
his childhood on the family
ranch near Lexington, mov­
ing to Walla Walla where he
attended and graduated high
school. He then attended
Oregon Institute of Technol­
ogy at Klamath Falls, after
which he returned to Hep­
pner and m arried Sharon
Bryant in 1956. They had
three children, Kathy, Kim
and Kraig.
In 1974 he married
C arolyn Slocum H uston,
adding her two sons, Jeff
and William. In 1998 they
moved to Carolyn’s child­
hood farm on Upper Rhea
Creek near Heppner, where
he prided him self on this
meticulously groomed and
weed free yard.
Mr. Cutsforth was
involved in some form o f
farming or ranching most
o f his life. He sold farm
c h em ica ls and m anaged
circle farms. He was a life
m em ber o f the H eppner
Elks Lodge and regularly at­
tended the Assembly of God
Church. Kenny took great
pride in his grandchildren.
He never missed a home
game, an award assembly or
a concert. He loved gadgets,
and probably ow ned the
first hand held calculator.
He always had up to date
technology in the form o f a
new computer. He e-mailed
before his c h ild ren did.
Kenny loved a joke, he often
told his kids he couldn’t wait
for tomorrow' because he got
better looking every day. He
will be missed for his quick
humor an easy grin.
He is survived by:
his wife, Carolyn; daugh­
ters, Kathy Cutsforth-Ful-
mer, Kim Cutsforth-Armato,
all of Heppner; son, Kraig
Cutsforth o f Olympia; step­
sons, W illiam H uston o f
Freehold, NJ and Jeff Huston
o f Irrigon; grandchildren,
M aggie and Joe A rm ato,
Kelsey Cutsforth, Wil and
Taylor Huston, and Katie
Fluston; stepmother, Barba­
ra Gilbert; sisters, Dorothy
Hawkins, Vesta Kilkenny
and Faye C utsforth; and
half sisters, Donna and Lisa
Cutsforth.

Fritz, Pat and h a lf sister

was held at 11 a.m. Friday,
September 5, 2008, at the

Tatom and Christopher Masagatani
Tatom Henrich and Christopher Masagatani were
married July 12 at the Henrich Ranch in Dayton, WA with
a reception hosted by the Masagatani family in Hawaii on
July 19. Alex Williams officiated.
Tatom is the daughter of Tom and Dianne Henrich
o f Richland, WA and the granddaughter of the late Stanley
Cox and Shirley Whitney.
Christopher is the son o f Jesse and Jona Masagatani
o f Kaneohe, HI.
Attendants were Donovan Henrich, Erin Casch,
Kari Dehn, Aaron Kilby, Jason Barnes, and Mike Mcune.
Flower girl and ring bearer was Polmakai Yamaguchi.
The bride is a graduate o f Richland High School in
the Tri-Cities and currently works for Exquisite Surfaces
and is attending Parsons Design College in New York
City.
The groom is a graduate o f Kamehameha High in
Kahuku, HI and Lewis & Clark College in Portland and
is currently employed at eROI.
They live in New York City.

Community breakfast to be held at
Heppner United Methodist Church
Heppner United Methodist Church will host a free
community breakfast on Sunday, September 14, from 8-10
a.m.
This breakfast will be held once a month for any­
one in the community who would like to attend. Ham and
pancakes will be served.
Religious education classes to be
held at St. Patrick’s Parish
St. Patrick’s Parish will begin religious educa­
tion classes on Sunday, September 14. The classes are
for preschool through sixth grade and will be held in the
Parish Hall.
Teachers will include: Kimberly Lindsay, Suzanne
Rea, Beth Dickenson, Petra Payne, Brian Kollman, Mark
Miller, Dick and Sharon Jones, and Mary Haguewood. The
teachers attended an orientation program for the course
which is titled: “Faith and Life.”
Everyone is welcome.
