The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Lea Mathieu of lone. Renee is the daughter of Connie and JefifNelson o f Surprise, AZ and Malcolm and Susan Johnstone o f West Chester, PA. She is a 1999 graduate of Spring Creek High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies in 2003 at the University of Oregon, and a master’s degree in health care policy and management at the University of Birmingham, England in 2008. Stephen is the son o f Dick and Jannie Allen of lone. He is a 1997 graduate o f lone High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies in 2003 from the University o f Oregon, and a master’s degree in inter­ national poverty reduction and development management from the University o f Birmingham, England in 2007. Renee's attendants were all dear friends. Maid of honor was Halina Kowalski of Portland. Bridesmen were Sean Milton of Seattle, WA and Roby Tucson, AZ. Bridesmaids were Megan Boswell of Santa Cruz, CA and Stephany Beck of Portland. Stephen was attended by Renee’s brother, Karsten Johnston of Seoul, South Korea as best man and his sister Elizabeth Allen o f Columbia, MO as best lady. Grooms­ men were Andrew Chase of Palo Alto, CA, cousin o f the groom; and friends Andrew' Stinchfield o f Los Alamos, NM; and Keith Potter o f Condon. Flower girls were friends o f the bride, Hilary Chaimov and Madeline Obuchowski; cousin o f the groom, Olivia Pimentel; and friend of the groom, Babali Peterson. The ring bearer was Jack Pimentel, cousin o f the groom. A variety o f music was enjoyed by family and friends with Patrick Callahan playing the piano, George Grandison on the bagpipes, and the Midnight Serenades. Following a wedding trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, the couple is at home in Phoeniz, AZ where Renee is a market­ ing specialist with American Family Insurance and Stephen is employed as a bilingual outreach coordinator with the International Rescue Committee. Nelson to participate in national ad competition Courtney Nelson, daughter o f Chuck and Lisa Nelson o f lone was selected to be on a national college ad team. F o llo w in g p u b lic school policy, students must be three years o f age before September 1,2008 to enroll. Any students eligible for next y e a r’s four-year-old class that are not current students are also invited to attend. The visiting students will participate with the cur­ rent three year old class with indoor activities, outside play, and snack time. Par­ ents are invited to register their student at this time and current board members will be on hand to answer any questions. Parents should bring immunization records and birth certificate. A summer registra­ tion date will also be held for those unable to attend the open house.
