from St. P atrick’s Senior
Center to the district bas­
ketball tournament on Fri­
day in Pendleton. Seats are
available for $5. For more

Heppner wrestling
to host Jr. Wrestling
program
The Heppner High
School wrestling teams will
be hosting a Jr. Wrestling
program . Boys and girls
ages five through sixth grade
are invited to attend. The
cost is $25 and dates are as
follows:
Practice will from
5:30-6:30 February 18, 20,
25 and 27, and March 3, 5,
10, and 12.
There will two tour­
naments held on Thursday,
February 28, and Thursday,
March 13.
Heppner Varsity Boys take down 5 out 6
teams in the last two weeks

Heppner traveled to
Enterprise on Friday, Janu­
ary 25. Heppner lead the
game all night with a final
score o f HHS 65 E n ter­
prise 42.
The first h a lf was
HHS 14 Enterprise 7, and
at the halftim e buzzer it
was HHS 34 E n terp rise
16. By the third quarter the
boys had pulled away by 19
points, continuing their lead
into the fourth with Mus­
tangs taking the win.
Lane B ailey sunk
13 for the night and Na-
cho E lguezabal w ith 11
points and 15 rebounds.
Jared Huddleston, AJ Rauch
and Braden Britt all had
eight points. Chris Lien had
seven, Brent Eckman and
Nathan Van Cleave had four
and Jordan Hatfield contrib­
uting two for the win. The
Mustangs shot an outstand­
ing 53% from the field.
On Saturday H ep­
pner went on to Elgin for a
w in o f 58 to 48.
H eppner never let
the Huskies step ahead. In
the first quarter the Mustangs
were eight points ahead with
Heppner 14, Elgin 6. By the
half HHS had 22 points and
Elgin had 16 points. In the
third quarter the Mustangs
held a seven point lead at
39-32. In the fourth quarter
the H eppner pulled their
lead to a 10 point spread to
take the win.
Lane Bailey led the
Mustangs with 18 points and
Brent Eckman with 13, AJ
Rauch put up 11 and Nathan
Van Cleave and Nacho El­
guezabal each had six. Chris
Lien and Braden Britt also
contributed two points each
for the Mustangs w in.
The following Fri­
day Heppner greeted Union
on the Mustang court. Hep­
pner led the game by six
points all thru the first three
quarters. The fourth quar­
ter the Bobcats caught up

after the Union loss, Hepp­
ner took to the road for a win
over Weston-McEwen.
Heppner was down
by 3 points in the first quar­
ter. By half-time the Mus­
tangs w ere up 13 points
over the Tiger-Scots and
the Mustangs didn't let up.
Their lead grew bigger in
the third quarter with a 15
point gap. The final score
was Heppner 49, Weston-
McEwen 36.
AJ Rauch led the
team with 14 points. Nacho
E lguezabal sunk 10 and
Lane B ailey sh o t seven
for the night. Jared Hud-

Heppner High School’s boys' and girls’ basketball
teams will he playing in district tournament competition
this weekend in Pendleton.
On Friday, the girls will play Enterprise at 1:30
p.m. Following the girls’ game, the boys will play Pilot
Rock at approximately 3 p.m. Games begin at 1:30 p.m.
on both Friday and Saturday.
Ticket prices are $4 for students and $6 for adults
per session. Day passes (two sessions) are $7 for students
and $10 for adults. A tournament pass is $12 for students
and $18 for adults.
There will be four sessions as follows:
