lone.
As part o f the pro­
gram W C V E D G has part­
nered w ith the H eppner
Chamber o f Commerce to
contact local businesses
about displaying brochures
displays w ith information on
starting or buying a business
in the area. The brochures
w ill include information on
financing, business assis­
tance, government contacts
and current businesses and
com m ercial property for
sale.
Any business owner
who is considering selling
their business and would
like to be included in the
brochure should contact
Dav id Sykes or any member
o f W C V E D G . There is no
charge other than printing
o f the flyers to be included
in the brochure.

Boardman Tillicum Club wraps up a busy year
The Boardman T illi­
cum Club finished up 2007
as one o f their busiest years
on record. O rganized in
1945, the club is made up
o f Boardman area women
interested in fellowship and
service to the Boardman
Community.
Fundraisers for the
year included catering for
the Chamber o f Commerce’s
Frostbite G o lf tournament,
the A fte r Prom Fashion
Show, concession for Music
in the Parks, and the Christ­
mas Bazaar. In addition to
fundraisers, the club spon­
sored the annual Easter Egg
Hunt, the Music in the Parks
Concert Series, Senior Meal
Day, and the annual Christ­
mas Lighting Contest.
The Boardman T illi-
• cum Club donated money to
Operation Graduation, the
Irrig o n /B o ard m a n E m er­
gency Center, the Board-
man Seniors, the American
C ancer A s s o c ia tio n , the
Kiwanis Halloween Party,
the Columbia River Harves-
tors, the Christmas Baskets,
the C aring Tree, and the
lleiple Family Fund. Also,
they gave four $250 schol­
arships to Riverside High
School students in the 2007
graduating class.
This past year, the
Club was asked to provide
the meals for three funeral
luncheons. They also pro­
vid ed volunteers an d /o r
refreshments for the Inland
Northwest Musicians Con­
cert, the 4th o f July Bingo,
the Cultural Trust Steering
C o m m itte e , the K iw an is
H allow een Party, and the
Community Tree Lighting.
The final event for
the club was presenting
the Sam Boardm an E le ­
m entary School Teachers
w ith $10,000. During the
school's W inter Concert,
T illic u m C lu b m em bers
presented Principal Johnson
w ith an oversized check
representing the donation
to the teachers. The money
was awarded to the Tillicum
Club from a grant through
the M orrow County Needs
and Issues program.
The Boardman T illi­
cum Club is always accept­
ing membership. Anyone
wishing to be more involved
in the Boardman community
can contact Jackie M cCau­
ley at 481-2928.

host taco feed
The Heppner FFA
Chapter w ill be hosting a
taco feed during the basket­
ball games on Friday. Janu­
ary 24. The feed w ill begin
at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $5
and includes tacos, all the
fixings, dessert and a drink.
Fair Board
meeting to be
held
The January F a ir
Board meeting w ill be held
on January 7 at 6 p.m. at
the Morrow County Fair­
grounds Fair O ffice. Pos­
sible changes for the next
year w ill be discussed.
