The Christmas season is in full swing at St. Pat­
rick’s Senior Center. Decorations were ( *cently put up all
around the center by many volunteers. The main Christmas
tree was put up by Keith Brudavold, who used his personal
decorations. The Christmas village on the piano was put up
by Jeanne Grijalva. The boughs were donated by Richard
Peck. Velma Wight, Kathy Turner, Travis Richards and
Billie Lacy also were on hand to help decorate.

At the location, con­
tact was made w ith Aaron
Autrey, 29 years of age out
Little Rock, AR. After in­
terviewing Mr. Autrey and
searching a travel trailer, he
was subsequently arrested
for two counts o f burglary
in the first degree, felon
in possession o f a firearm,
and two counts o f theft in
the first degree. He was
lodged at Umatilla County
Jail. Nearly all o f the stolen
property was recovered and
returned to the victims of the
burglaries.

Sheriff’s Office, Hermiston
Police Department, and the
Morrow County S h eriff’s
O ffice C o m m u n icatio n s
Center for their efforts in
this case.
“These cases only
re-enforce what we already
know, and that is that law en­
forcement is a team effort,”
says U ndersheriff Myren.
“ In this case, each entity
contributed something to the
investigation. In one case,
an agency had a last known
address that led to a vacant
house. However, the land­
lord o f that vacant house
had additional information
that led another direction.”
Undersheriff Myren contin­
ued, “While there are those
law enforcem ent officers
and agencies that tend to try
and handle cases with very
little external input or as­
sistance, we feel that multi­
agency problem solving is
far more productive in the
long run.”

Boardman Tillicum Club
to give $10,000 in grants
The Tillicum Club of
Boardman will give $10,000
to Sam Boardman Elemen­
tary School teachers who
were impacted by a fire at
the school last summer. A
special presentation will be
held during the Winter Con­
cert, Tuesday, December 18,
at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s
gymnasium.
The Tillicum Club
applied for and received
a grant from the Morrow
County Needs and Issues
program, a program which
disperses tippage fees from
Finley Butte Landfill. The

row County recognize the
impact teachers make, not
Boardman Council announces
meeting schedule changes
The City o f Boardm an Council m eetings for
January have been changed. The meetings have been
rescheduled to January 8, 2008 at 7 p.m. and January 22,
2008 at 7 p.m.
Senior Center Menu
St. Patrick's Parish members will be serving lunch
on Wednesday, December 12. The menu will include
salmon casserole, green salad, spiced pears, bread sticks,
and cookies.

Piano recital
scheduled for
December 9
Forty local piano
students will play their fa­
vorite Christmas pieces at a
recital on Sunday, Decem­
ber 9, at 3 p.m. at Christian
Life Center, 535 W. Morgan
Street in Heppner.
The students range
in age from five to 18 and
represent all levels o f play­
ing from brand new begin­
ners to advanced students.
Cookies and punch will be
served following the recital.
The public is invited to at­
