lone seniors participate in mock
job interviews
Erin Heideman’s senior personal finance and man
agement class at lone Community School participated in
mock job interv iews with several professional members of
the community last week. “1 would encourage any student
to participate,” said Jim Swanson owner o f Wheatland
Insurance. “What a great experience for the students of
our school.”
Students were required to be in professional

interview that hosted a variety o f job related questions. “ I
was nervous for the interviews,” said senior Max Trahan.

they will be responsible for collecting and completing an
application, submitting a resume’ and cover letter before
the interview. Each student will get to complete an inter
view and write a follow up thank you note to the potential
‘employer’. “As a teacher, it’s always nice to have the
input and help o f community members,” said teacher,
Erin Heideman. “ I really appreciate the time and talents
o f the people who helped prov ide this experience for our
students. It makes what we are teaching in class become
relevant for the student.”
The following individuals helped make this ex
perience possible for the lone students: Anne Morter
(BM CC), Jim Swanson (W heatland Insurance), Jean
Jepsen (Dobyns-Hart), Shilo Svetich (Sunflower Junction)
and Stacie Miller (Wheatland Insurance).
