emotional game played at
the lone football field. With
the jersey o f Stormy Ken
drick hanging on the end
o f the Cardinal bench and
Stormy's number 33 newly
illuminated on the hill over
looking the field, the Cards
gave a tribute to their fallen
teammate both on the field
and in a special halftim e
presentation to S torm y’s
family. Stormy Kendrick, a
natural bom football player,
died o f cardiac arrest last
March. Stormy was just a
freshman but he was an im

up defense caused a fumble
on Condon-W heeler’s sec

the ball inside the 20 o f

got away for a 57 yard run.
The Cardinal defense denied

Paul Hams scored
his first o f two touchdowns
on the first play o f the sec
ond quarter, darting in from
15 yards out. Alan'Rietmann
caught a pass from Justin
Archer for the point after to
put the Cardinals up 16-6.
The Knights responded just
40 seconds later on a one

in the third quarter on a 29
yard run by Paul Hams. The
Knights scored again but

C ardinals came ready to
play. “ The em otion was
there. You could see it when
they jumped after making
hits,” said Stefani. “We had
a great week of practice. I
was very happy with our
offensive line and this was
the first game that there was
some serious hitting going
on. Clay and Kip had some
big hits in the game.”

the team in tackles with
ten, three unassisted. Clay
