“Pee Wee” My Favorite Outfit Contest on Wednesday
For the second year,
the 4-H Fashion Revue will
include a Pee Wee My Fa­
vorite Outfit show for kids
ages birth to third grade.
The kids pick their favorite
outfit and model between
the 4-H My Favorite Outfit
contest and the 4-H Style
Revue on Wednesday, Au­
gust 15. The show begins
at 7 p.m. and takes place on
the stage at the fairgrounds.
Participants need to p re­
register at the 4-H office by

The contest is lim­
ited to 30 contestants. A
short narrative is required
and is due in the 4-H office
by Monday, August 13. Par­

outfit is their favorite. Par­
ticipants may model alone,
or together w ith a friend. All
participants will receive a
participation ribbon.
“This was very pop­
ular last year and the crowd
seemed to really enjoy it,”
said M itchell. “ We saw
everything from swimsuits
to chaps. Slots will fill up
fast so sign your child up
today.”
Super science
exhibits back
once again
The hands on sci­
ence exhibits will be back
again this year. The will be
located in the old beef bam
next to the 4-H snack shack
from W ednesday through
Saturday. Hours will vary.
HHS FFA members plan dinner,
basket raffle, fair booth
On Wednesday, August 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. dur­
ing fair, the HHS FFA Chapter will put on a “country din­
ner” w ith chicken and beef kabobs, corn on the cob. bread,
watermelon and a drink for $5 for a regular plate and $7 for
a large plate. Proceeds will go toward the chapter.
They are also making baskets as a fund raiser for
their October trip to the National FFA convention. The bas­
kets w ill be on display at the dinner on Wednesday night and
will be auctioned off during the Murray's Micro-Beer and
Wine tasting event on Thursday evening at the fairgrounds
from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“The kids are very excited about the great oppor­
tunities that getting involved in such a great organization
offers to them,” said FFA advisor Dickenson. “They are
putting together a double booth for the upcoming Morrow
County Fair and w ill be sharing “then and now” photos and
experiences. With the chapter having its first opportunity
to show at the fair as FFA members, they are excited about
show ing off their accomplishments over the course o f the
year.”
Dickenson said that the students are looking for
photos and memorabilia that past Heppner FFA members
may have that can be used in the booth. Everything will be
returned, she said.
In October, 14 FFA members from Heppner will
be representing the community on a trip the National FFA
convention. "Due to the nature o f the trip, there are a lot o f
expenses, so the kids have been participating in quite a few
fundraisers and have a few coming up that they wanted to
share with you and the area,” said Dickenson.

National
Guard to bring
Humvee to the
fair
This year the N a­
tional Guard is planning
on bringing a Humvee to
the Morrow’ County Fair.
According to fair secretary
Ren'ee Yocom. the National
(iuard is also hoping to get a
tank and inflatable rock wall
for the fair this year.
“Stop by the fair and
visit w ith the National Guard
and thank them for serving
our country and check out
the Humvee and tank, get
brochures, lanyards, DVD's,
and information about the
National Guard.” said Yo­
com. “ Hopefully you can
also clim b the inflatable
rock wall; we know it was
a big hit last time it was
here.”
