Share the passion for the outdoors
To the editor:
The Heppner Garden Club appreciates the Heppner
youth for the Mustang Mop Up. What a wonderful day it
was and so many people were surprised and pleased. The
youth were pleasant and worked with enthusiasm. Hats off
to a great group.
National Garden week is the first full week in June.
You can be a part of it by continuing the Mustang Mop
Up. Plant some flowers, weed, mow your yard, and share
with others a bouquet or some veggies from your garden.
The Heppner Garden Club is out there working in
the community. We are responsible for over 20 projects.
Many of these are taken for granted. Come and he a member
of our club and share the passion for the outdoors.

WCCC Ladies 18-Hole Invitational results
WCCC Ladies held their 18-Hole Invitational on Tuesday, June 5. Ladies from
neighboring clubs were invited to join our local golfers for a day of competition, a salad
luncheon and prizes. But, due to the very rainy early morning, only the Pendleton Country
Club Ladies attended. By tee-off time, the rain had stopped and the 11 remaining ladies
enjoyed a beautiful morning of golf.
Low gross of the field was Virginia Grant, WCCC. Low net of the field was Pat
Edmundson, WCCC.
Winners by club:
Pendleton - Low Gross: first place, Betty Smith; and second place, Carole
Chvilicek. Low Net: first place, Dolores Cahill; and second place Wand Wyrick.
Willow Creek - Low Gross: first place, Corol Mitchell; and second place was a
tie between Lorrene Montgomery and Luvilla Sonstegard. Low Net: first place, Pat
Dougherty; and second place, Jackie Allstott.
Birdie - Virginia Grant, #10. Long Drive - guest, Carole Chvilicek; home, Pat
