City of Irrigon holds
groundbreaking ceremony
F IRRÌGON CITY HALLÌ
The City of Irrigon held a groundbreaking ceremony
Saturday, May II. at noon at the building site of City Hall
on Hwy 730 in Irrigon. The site is located east of the Post
Office and just east of where Division Street would extend
north to Main Avenue.

OR Hwy. 19 closure at Kimberly
Bridge on schedule for June 2-21
Plans to close Ore­
gon Highway 19 at the John
Day R iver (K im b erly )
Bridge are on schedule for
June 2 through June 21. The
bridge is located approxi­
mately one mile south of
Kimberly along the western
border of Grant County. The
closure is needed to accom­
modate bridge repair work
that began last month. De­
tour signs will be posted di­
recting travelers to use alter­
nate routes during the 19-
day highway and bridge clo­
sure. ODOT will maintain
p ed estria n -o n ly access
across the structure during
the closure time.
Two m ain d eto u r
routes are being identified
around the Kimberly Bridge
closure. Eastbound traffic
from Kimberly will be de­
toured east on Oregon High­
way 402 to Long Creek, then
south on U.S. Highway 395
to Mt. Vernon. Westbound
traffic from Kimberly will be
detoured west on Oregon
H ighw ay 19 to S ervice
Creek, then south on Oregon
Highway 207 to Mitchell.
Depending on starting and
ending destinations, travel­
ers are encouraged to plan
extra (ravel time and deter­
mine the alternate route that
best suit their needs.
The
K im berly
Bridge repair work is part of
a $5.75 million Oregon De­
partment of Transportation
project that includes the re­
placement of the John Day
River (Monument) Bridge.

The Bank of Eastern Oregon was a saddle sponsor for the 5'*
annual Barrel Race to he held at Buekin Roll Ranch. Pictured is
