HHS holds Night of Excellence
Pictured are Jodessa Chapa, Casev Maben, Jared Huddleston,
Sarah Ballard and Joe Pranger receiving their awards.
On Thursday, May 10, Heppner High School
celebrated a night of excellence. Awards for top academics
were awarded along with sports awards for the 2006-2007
sports seasons.
Parents, relatives, friends and students enjoyed an
ice-cream social put on by the Heppner Booster Club and
the Heppner High School site council. Over 350 people
were in attendance at the event.
Among the awards given were the presidential
awards which go to 8lh and 1 l'h grade students who have a
very high grade point average. Awards were also given for
those earning academic letters. Teachers awarded their top
students with awards and coaches gave awards to varsity
team members and told of each player's qualities.
Video productions showing sports and academic
pictures taken during the year were shown during the
evening while people ate their ice-cream, bananas and cake
or brownies.
