MCSD Math
Contest results
announced
One hundred-and-
thirty of Morrow County’s
highest achieving math stu­
dents met on Thursday, April
12, at A.C. Houghton Ele­
mentary School to compete
in the annual Morrow Coun­
ty SchiH)l District Math Con­
test.
As expected, all stu­
dents performed extremely
well, where very few ques­
tions separated the first place
contestant from those that
re c eiv e d
p a rtic ip a tio n
awards. All students should
be commended for their ef­
forts and abilities.
Below is a list of stu­
dents who placed in the top
ten for each of the five age
groups that participated:

while License Suspended.

Violation of the Basic Rule,
85 mph in a 55 mph zone.

report that a citizen walked
up to the Boardman Animal
Control officer and advised
a subject was trying to buy
more beer; the subject was
possibly DU1I. Boardman
Police Dept, officer cited
Luis Alberto Ortega Roque,
28, for No O p e ra to r’s
License. The vehicle was
impounded.
MCSO deputy cited
Sidney Dwight Pelson, 64.
for Violation of the Basic
Rule, 76 mph in a 55 mph
zone.
MCSO received a
report from a caller in lone
of a dog tied up on a too-
short lead; the dog couldn't
even lay its head down. A
deputy determined the dog
had plenty of rope.
MCSO received a
report from a caller in Irrigon
of a horse that was “extra,
skinny” and limping for two
weeks. There was no shelter
for it nearby.
MCSO received a
report from a caller in Irrigon
that the neighbor's two dogs
got out and one attempted
to bite her. A deputy locked
the dogs in their yard; no one
was home at the residence.

report from a c a lle r in
Heppner that someone got
onto the fire communication
channel and was babbling
nonsense. The fire dept, was
doing to determine who the
radio belonged to.

Irrigon
ambulance received a report
from a caller in Irrigon that
a female subject in her 40s
fell and had an arm injury and
difficulty breathing. The
patient was transported to
Good Shepherd Hospital in
Hermiston.
MCSO received a
call from a caller in Irrigon
who heard her daughter may
be in jail in Pendleton. The
call was transferred to the
Umatilla County Sheriff's
Office.
MCSO received a
report from a caller in Irrigon
that his fiancé was assaulted
by a female subject. They
were at the Good Shepherd
Hospital in Hermiston. It
was d eterm in ed to be a
miscommunication and no
crime occurred.

report from a caller in Irrigon
who lost her ID and food
stamp card.

report from a caller in Irrigon
that someone was burning
something, possibly copper
wire.

bitten by the neighbor’s dog.
It was determined the dog's
owner would surrender the
dog and the dog would be
taken to the Hermiston Vet
Clinic.

traffic stop with a vehicle
listed as sto len out o f
Wallowa County. An auto
sales business was listed as
the owner of the vehicle. The
b u sin ess did not p ress
charges as it appeared to be
a paperwork mix-up. The
business would meet with
the driver and handle the
situation as a civil matter.

a caller in Boardman that
someone left a wallet at the
Texaco station; an officer
contact was requested. The
ow ner o f the w allet was
contacted and arrangements
would be made to pick up
the wallet.
