1948, when they moved into
Heppner, and Lorna started
w ork at the H ep p n er
Cleaners. In 1955, she began
w ork for the JC Penney
Company. In 1970 the store
in Heppner closed, so Loma
took a tra n sfe r to the
Yakima, WA store, as her
husband, Dick, was disabled.
She retired from the Yakima
store in 1981.
After retirement, she
was very in te re ste d in
genealogy and traced many
of her family lines and also
of her husband’s family. She
liked to make contact with
cousins and families that she
discovered while doing the
research. She enjoyed many
interests such as sewing,
em broidery, cro ch et, oil
painting, and gardening, all

A graveside service will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday, March
30, at the Heppner Masonic
Cemetery.
Mrs. Borman was
born November 15, 1915 at
Morton. Minnesota to Clare
and Lela Pomeroy Patton.
At a young age she moved
to Stevensville, MT and then
to Lexington. She attended
the L exington and Rhea
Creek Schools and Heppner
High School through her
sophom ore year, leaving
school to work on the home
ranch.
On May 5, 1934, she
married Richard R. Borman
at Heppner. They lived and

Cooper Tison Lavender-A son, Cooper Tison,
was bom to Jason and Tina Lavender of Pflugerville, TX.
on January 18, 2007, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.
TX. The baby weighed 71bs., 13 oz. and measured 20 inches
long.
He joins a brother. Jackson, 2 Vz, at home.
Grandparents are Tony and Verina Schiller of
Pflugerville and Ronnie and Sandra Lavender of Austin.
Great-grandparents are Ray and Norma French of Heppner,
Marilyn Schiller and the late Boh Schiller of Echo, Gladys
Hall and the late Lloyd D. Hall Sr. of Waco, TX, and Wallace
C. and Mamie Lavender of Hewitt, TX.

to Pendleton to live with her
daughter.
Survivors include
daughter, Lynda Dunlap of
Pendleton; grandson, Dyrk
Dunlap of Hermiston; grand
daughter, Lori LaRue o f

Z achary LaRue; brother,
Calvin Cox of Box Elder,

Once again it is time
for the MS Walk in Heppner.
Last year was a phenomenal
year with 117 walkers raising
$12,540 to help find a cure
for MS. This year’s walk will
take place on Saturday, April
21, with a fund raising goal
of $ 14,000. The registration/
check-in begins at 8 a.m. at
All Saints Episcopal Church
on Church and Gale Street,
and the walk begins at 9 a.m.
downtown at the city park.
The MS Walk is the
largest fund raiser for the
O regon C h ap ter o f the
National MS Society, the
funds provide direct services
and p ro g ram s for an
estimated 7,000 people with
MS and their families within
O reg o n
and
SW
Washington.
T h ere
is
no
re g is tra tio n
fee
for
participants but walkers are
asked to raise a minimum of
$25 per person. They can
earn prizes for outstanding
fundraising, starting with a t-
shirt for raising $50. If you
bring $50 the day of the walk
you will be eligible for a t-
shirt that day while supplies
last.
Following tradition
there will be a free pancake/
ham breakfast served at the
church for the walkers and
volunteers after the walk.
