Maggie, Joe and Kim would
like to thank this community
for the outpouring of kindness
we have received during the
past several weeks. It would he
impossible to list every individ
ual without using the entire
paper; it felt as if everyone was
involved in helping us in some
way. St. Patrick’s Parish, the
Altar Society and the Holy
Names. The Elks Club and the
Lady Elks, the High School, Jr.
High, and Grade School staff
and students. There were so
many cards and so many
prayers and thoughts, there
were many times when I felt it
must seem like the scene in “It's
a Wonderful Life” in which
everyone in town is praying at
once. We were overwhelmed
with the impact of it. It was a
great kindness to Mike and his
family.
Thank you to all the people
who called, prayed, visited and
brought things. Thank you to
my cousins who are many, that
helped in every conceivable
way. To Mom and Keith, Dad
and Carolyn, to Father Con
don, to Judy Buschke, to Mel
issa Lindsay, to Carolyn Wiley,
to Pat and Trisha Sweeney the
people who took most of the
worry away, and to Karen who
went before us and showed us
the way.
“Even when sad, I remem
ber my times of joy.” -St. Au
gustine
Our heartfelt gratitude.

We would like to thank ev
eryone for being so helpful in
our recent loss of Dean. All the
cards, food, phone calls and
visits were especially appreci
ated. We would also like to
thank the Pioneer Memorial
Hospital staff, doctors and
nurses, for their care of him.
Many thanks to all who
helped make his memorial ser
vice and dinner a celebration of
life that even Dean would have
enjoyed. Once again, thank you
for your prayers and thoughts,
hut most of all for your love.

A huge thank you from the
2006-07 Heppner Girls Basket
ball team and coaches to all of
you who supported us this bas
ketball season. From the sup
port of parents and community
patrons in game day dinner

fund raisers to the awesome fan
encouragement we received
along our journey to the state

Thanks for coming and mak
ing our evening such a success!
Words cannot express our ap
preciation enough to each of
you who came from far and
near to attend lone’s 3nd An
nual Texas Hold ’em Poker and
Bingo fund raiser.
How do you thank everyone
who worked to set up, kitchen
help, advertising, preparing the
food, clean up, as well as work
ing during the evening of our
fund raiser? To each of you
who served as dealers, callers
or assisted in any way or gave
support in one way or another,
our thanks! Thanks also for
everyone who donated food for
the hake sale. It was great to
see so much home-baked gtxxl-
ies. You all helped make the
night a success. A successful
fund raiser would not have been
possible without each of you!
It takes many dedicated people
to make such an evening like
this work well.
Some of the projects we car
ry on throughout the year are:
Assist needy families, send
Girls and Boy State delegates
to State to learn about our gov
ernment, help Veterans Hospi
tals and servicemen who are
deployed overseas, and many
other much needed projects. We
also maintain the Legion Hall
as a much needed home for all
the many functions in and
around our community.
Each of you, who contribut
ed with time, talents or dona
tions, helped us accomplish
some of these goals. Thank
you from the bottom of our
hearts. We’ll be back next
year!
Sincerely,
lone American Legion Post
