Heppner will have two parades on Saturday, March
17, as part of the 25"' annual St. Patrick’s celebration.
The first parade, at noon, will feature vintage
automobiles and will cruz Main Street for the 7"' annual
St. Paddy’s Cruz-In. Participants for the Cruz-In will
assemble from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Northwest entrance to
Heppner (former Kinzua Mill site) on Highway 74/207.
Registration for the Cruz-In is $10 by March 13.
On site registration w ill be $15. Dash plaques will be given
to each registrant. Participants are encouraged to arrive by
10:30 a.m. so the parade announcer will be able to gather
facts about each vehicle before the parade. Autos will be
on display on Water Street in downtown Heppner.
Plaque awards will be given for Leprechaun’s
Choice, Judges Choice and a Mustang Award, sponsored
by the Heppner High School student body.

The second parade of the day, the Great Green
Parade, will take place at 1 p.m. downtown.

Center selling
raffle tickets
The Neighborhood
Center is currently selling St.
Pat’s raffle tickets. Tickets are
$1 each or six for $5.
Articles being raffled off
are baskets that have several gift
certificates, oil change, bath
basket, pizza, 1500 lbs. bale
grass hay, taco dinner for 10
prepared by Mary Ann
Elguezabal, and many more
articles that are on display at the
Neighborhood Center.
Tickets can
be
purchased at the center.
Proceeds from the sale
will be used to purchase food

iary to host fundraiser tournament
The lone American
Legion and Auxiliary will
host their third annual Texas
Hold’em Poker, Bingo, and
D om ino fu n d raise r on
Saturday, March 10, and the
lone American Legion Hall.
Doors will open at 5
p.m. for browsing the silent
auction. Poker sign-up is at
6 p.m. and play begins at
6:30 p.m. Buy-in for the
poker tournament is $40.

on Tuesday, February 20,
from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
at the Episcopal Parish Hall.
P rices are $4 for
adults, $3 for children under
12, and $14 for a family.
Fat T uesday is
know n as the tim e to
indulge, so all are invited to
eat as many pancakes, and as
much ham and fruit as they
like.

of Lent when many choose

preparation for "rebirth” at

“City Cleanup Days’’ declared
The City of Heppner’s Beautification Commission
has declared Thursday, March 1. through Tuesday, March
13, as "City Cleanup Days.”
During the annual “City Cleanup Days,” residents
are encouraged to do their part in beautifying our
community. This is timed to happen right before Heppner’s
St. Patrick's celebration to spruce up the town before the
large influx of visitors.
Les Schwab Tire Center is helping the community
by accepting tires for disposal. This is limited to Heppner
residents and four passenger or pickup tires per family.
The following cleanup opportunities are available
also and are located at or near the City Yard off Riverside
Street next to Jay Coil Fabrication.
1) A metal recycling dumpster for larger metal
objects. Tires, refrigerators, washers, dryers, or other
appliances cannot be accepted.
2) A yard debris only dumpster (no household
garbage).
3) A year round recycling bin for household metals,
glass, newspapers (no plastic).
These are limited to City of Heppner residents only.
