REALTO R
PAINTING & CURB APPEAL
The executive dressed in a
tailored suit looks a whole lot
different than he does on a
weekend fishing trip. Just like
the well-groomed person gets
more attention, your home will
get more favorable looks from
buyers if it has a fresh face to
it. It will probably sell for a
higher price as well.
One of the most effective
ways to dress up your home
for sale is to put on a fresh coat
of paint. Dollar for dollar, you
will get more in terms o f a
higher selling price with new
paint than with just about any
other improvement you can
make. Curb appeal is extreme
ly important in attracting buy
ers. Old. weather-beaten paint
can actually detract interest
and buyers from a very nice
home.
Many times, just painting
the trim, doors, the eves and
rain gutters is all that is need
ed to give a house a fresh look.
Selecting contemporary colors
that give a home that up-to-
date look will also help in get
ting top dollar for your home
once it goes on the market.

San
Ju an ita
(Elguezabal) Moreno has
found her true calling and
has made a name for herself
in national rugby circles.
After playing for just two
years, the 2001 Heppner
High School graduate has
recently been named to the
USA Rugby U23 squad, the
Eagles.
Moreno first learned
about rugby after spending
three years on the Western
Oregon University softball
roster. O nce W estern
O regon had organized a
rugby team. Moreno was
excited knowing that this
aggressive sport was just her
style. M oreno quickly
worked her way up. earning
playing positions for select
squad team s such as the
Pacific Coast Grizzlies her
first year. Later that same
year, sum m er o f 2005,
Moreno was selected into
the USA Rugby U23 pool,
w hich earn ed her an
exclusive invitation to a
weeklong practice with the
team.
In February of this
year. Moreno received her
first invitation to play with
the USA N ational U23
squad, earning a starting
position as an inside and
outside center. Since then
Moreno completed her last
rugby season at Western and
is finishing her work to
graduate with a B.A. in
Speech Com m unications.
However unlike many of her
teammates, Moreno didn't
stop training at the end of the
college rugby season. Her
hard work and long hours
paid off this summer when
the rugger participated in the
Collegiate National All Star
Tournament in Boulder, CO
where she was named an All-
American.
M oreno is still
playing for the USA U23
Eagle rugby squad, recently
returning from a weeklong
p ractice sessio n at the
U n iv ersity o f S tan fo rd .
There she was honored to be
a team captain during a
scrimmage. The Eagles w ill
continue to play throughout
the summer. If the resources
are available, San Juanita
w ill be co m p etin g in
Philadelphia Aug. 15-20,
and will follow with a tour
to C anada beginning on
Sept. 24.
M oreno is excited
about
the
upcom ing
international play but is even
more passionate about the
high expectations she has for
herself. Earning the privilege
to wear the red, white and
blue rugby jersey for the
women’s USA Rugby squad
is her goal. This great tribute
would enable her to compete
in the next women’s World
Cup.
At p ra c tice and
during games, San Juanita
gives 100 percent of her
heart and talent but she
needs some help to raise 100
percent of the funds to make
this dream a reality. She
w ould a p p re cia te som e
financial assistance. She
would be extremely grateful
if you could send donations
in her name to the Bank of
Eastern Oregon, P.O. Box
