Marty Davis to play at fair
A note for new exhibitors
Have you attended
previous county fairs and, in
looking at the e x h ib its,
thought to yourself, “1 can
do th a t” ? W h eth er it is
baking, canning, growing
fruits, vegetables or flowers,
sew ing, c ra fts, taking
pictures or painting, there is
a category for you at the fair.
It is simple to become an
active participant. All one
needs to do is to go to the
F air O ffice, pick up an
e x h ib ito r n um ber and a
premium sheet and then take
the item s to the various
departm ents on M onday,
Aug. 14, between 1 p.m. and
8 p.m. Fruits, vegetables and
flowers are also accepted
Tuesday morning, Aug. 15,
from 8-10 a.m.
Ren'ee Yocom, Fair
Secretary, will be happy to
answer any questions. Office
hours are Monday through
Friday from 8 a.m .-12 p.m.
and 1-5 p.m..
Marty Davis started out singing country music, but
one of the most popular parts of his show has always been
the Western music segment. (For those who don't know the
difference: Country is what you hear on the radio currently.
It’s the nation’s favorite and most listened-to music. Western
tells the story of the Old West and the Silver Screen Cowboy
...Gene, Roy and the Sons of the Pioneers.) So come and
join us Thursday night at Murray’s-Country Rose Wine and
Micro-Beer Tasting for a nostalgic trip through time ...back
to when the good guys wore white hats, kissed their ponies
instead of the girls, headed the bad guys off at the pass and
always caught 'em in the end-all without mussing up their
rhinestone and fringed shirt- and then rode off into the sunset.
See you all there at 7:45 p.m. following the Round-Up City
Cloggers.

Special awards to be given out
Again this year, special awards will be given in the
Poultry and Small Animals Department. Barbara VanArsdale
for years has given out money to the exhibitors at the Fair.
Categories include: Youngest Exhibitor-$15; Most Attentive
Exhibitor-$15; and Most Unique Exhibitor-$20.
KT’s Bunny Bam, co-owned by Kathy Tellechea and
Pam Renfro, will give a $50 savings bond to the Grand
Champion Youth in either open or 4-H.
“Bring your poultry and small animals down to the
Fair to exhibit, “ said a fair spokesperson. “Even though the
deadline is past we still have room for more!"
