Auditions to be held for high
school performance of Grease
H ep p n er

School Drama Department
will be conducting auditions
Aug. 14-16 at 7 p.m., at the
high school cafeteria for the
fall production of “Grease.”
All incoming ninth through
12,h graders are invited to
auditio n for the various
parts. The production will be
a musical.
All actors are asked
to bring two readings from
the script and one singing
number from the play for
au d itio n .
M usic
accompaniment is provided
at the audition.
Junior high students
will be given the opportunity
to perform in this play due
to the need for many extras.
Junior high auditions for
non-speaking, extra parts
will be the first week of
school. Junior high extras
will have separate practices
from high school actors.
There will also be a
student as assistant stage
manager for this production.

Army Pvt. Robert
Bratton has graduated from
basic infantry training at Fort
Benning in Columbus, GA.
D uring the nine
weeks of training, the soldier
received training in drill and
ceremonies, weapons, map
reading, tactics, m ilitary
courtesy, military justice,
physical Fitness, first aid and
Army history, core values
and traditions. Additional

combat skills and battlefield
operations and tactics and
experiencing use of various

infantry crewman.
Bratton is the son of
Don Bratton of Hermiston
and Tina Garrett of Irrigon.

INVITATION TO COMMENT ON
PROPOSED WEAPONS TRAINING RANGES
ON NAVAL WEAPONS SYSTEM TRAINING FACILITY,
BOARDMAN
The National Guard Bureau and the Oregon Military Department
are proposing to construct and operate four live-fire weapons training
ranges on the Naval Weapons System Training Facility, Boardman,
located approximately five miles south of Boardman, Oregon. The
ranges would include a Multi-Purpose Machinegun Range for
machineguns and light weapons, a Multi-Purpose Training Range
for larger vehicle-mounted weapons such as battle tanks and fighting
vehicles, and two Convoy Live-Fire Ranges for training responses
to hostile threats during vehicle convoy operations.
The Oregon Military Department has prepared an analysis of the
potential environmental impacts of this proposal in a draft
Environmental Assessment (EA), which is available for public review
and comment. Copies of the draft EA may be reviewed at:
