The Morrow County
Sheriff’s Office reports han­
dling the following business:
Hen Dick and Megan Rowe
Stuart and Julie Dick of Pendleton and Sydney and
Lynda Rowe of The Dalles announce the engagement of
Benjamin Dick of Portland and Megan Rowe of Portland.
The bride-elect graduated from Glencoe High
School in 2001. She w ill graduate from Portland
Community College Nursing Program in June 2006.
The groom-elect graduated from Pendleton High
School in 2000 and Portland State University in 2005 with
a degree in business administration. He is employed at
Bonneville Power Administration in Portland. He is the
grandson of Ed Dick. Jr., of Heppner.
The couple plans a Nov. 30, 2007 wedding.

Only 100 tickets were sold
for $25 each. Helping sell the

Tractor driver training and safety
course to be offered

offering a tracto r driver
training and safety course for
youth ages 14-17 on June 13
and 14. Class on June 13 will
be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants will need to
bring a lunch. Class on June
14 will be held from 8 a.m.
to 12 p.m. The course will
be held at M CGG in
Lexington.
Oregon State Law
requires youth ages 14-17 to
obtain a training certificate
in order to operate tractors
on farm s not ow ned or
operated by a member of
their immediate family.

Oregon businesses are finding
opportunities for growth with the
Oregon Department of Transportation's
OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program.
The bridge program is repairing or
replacing more than 300 bridges on
Oregon's highways. This work
stimulates Oregon’s economy and
keeps Oregon businesses strong.
Gladstone-based TLP GeoSpatial
Solutions LLC is providing remote
sensing, topographic. GIS and aerial
mapping services for the bridge
program. The company recently won
three contracts worth more than
$120.000 to provide high accuracy
topographic mapping in Hood River and
the Columbia River Gorge National

Raffles, auctions of
hunting tags break record
Oregon Department of
Fish and Wildlife officials
today announced that the
state's 2006 auctions and
raffles for big game hunting
tags broke last year's record
o f $ 5 1 5 ,8 0 0 ,
raisin g
$542,557 for hunter access
and wildlife habitat projects
throughout the state.
The auction of 12 big
game hunting tags netted a
record $333,180 in revenue.
The sportsmen/conservation
groups that sponsored the
auctions at various meetings
and conventions of their or­
ganizations in the past few
months keep 10 percent of
the proceeds. Those groups
include the Oregon Hunters
Association, Rocky Moun­
tain Elk Foundation. Mule
Deer Foundation, Oregon
Bow Hunters, Foundation
for North American Wild
Sheep, National Wild Turkey
Federation, and Safari Club
International.
The raffle for an addi­
tional 13 big game hunting
tags raised $209,377. The
drawing was held at the May
20 Oregon Hunters Associa­
tion annual convention in
Lincoln City.
O f the combined monies
raised, $306,403 will go to
the Access and Habitat pro­
gram to fund wildlife habi­
tat and hunter access im­
provement projects in the
state. T he rem ain in g
$206,053 will fund the re­
search and management of
bighorn sheep, pronghorn
antelope, and Rocky Moun­
tain goat in Oregon.
