volunteer training session

The Morrow County
Heritage Museum is up and
running for the 2006 season
after opening during the St.
Patrick’s Celebration with
large attendance numbers.
Since the museum is an all­
v o lu n te e r
n o n -p ro fit
organization, additional help
is being sought for greeting
the visiting public and other
duties.
A volunteer training
session for new greeters or
for past volunteers who need
updated about the museum's
new displays will be held
Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m.
at the Heritage M useum.
The session should last about
an hour. Refreshments will
be served.

Third-grade poster contest
Morrow County Gun Club news winners announced
Eleven shooters competed at the Morrow County
Gun Club on Sunday, March 26.
In singles, Mark Schlichting and Harvey Childers
had 23 of 25. Garrett Wilhelm had 22 of 25. Dick Goodhead
had 21 of 25. Jered Gorham, in the sub-junior category,
had 12 of 25.
In handicap, Goodhead had 23 of 25, Schlichting
had 21 of 25 and Dennis Peck and Childers had 20 of 25.
A nnies were shot w ith W ilhelm . Kelw ayne
Haguewood and Rob Ashbeck each winning one. Ashbeck
also won a round of golf.
The next shoot will be held April 2 at 12 noon.

Cara Qsmin’s third grade class participated in a
poster contest for the Heppner Garden Club and US Forest
Service. Their entries were displayed in the Smokey Bear
Booth at the Oregon State Flower Garden and Craft Show
in Portland.

Kendrick, 3rd- Ross Cutsforth and 4lh- Makenzi Hughes,

hall has gone through many
stages of improvements the
past several years. Through
all the various improvement
p ro je c ts, there was one
person who kept everyone
motivated. Jean Jepsen was
the driving force. For her
many hours o f dedicated
work, i.e. writing grants,
organizing work parties,
getting bids and doing all the
things necessary to get the
jo b s d o n e, lone Post
Commander Bob Baker and
the Unit Auxiliary President
Irene H o ltz, read a
resolution for a “standing
vote o f thanks and
appreciation.” She was also
presented with a “certificate
o f a p p re c ia tio n ” and a
bouquet o f two dozen red
roses.
