Heppner Christian Church volunteers are hosting
the noon meal at the senior center, Nov. 9.
The board expresses gratitude to Central Red Apple
Market for two boxes of bananas donated earlier in October.
A word of appreciation to John Edmundson for digging
out the puncture vine in the center’s parking lot. He
attended to safety as well as beauty by taking note of this
noxious weed, and disposing of it.
The senior bus is taking passengers to the Columbia
Basin Electric C oop’s Annual M eeting in Fossil on
Thursday, November 3. Ed Baker announced that departure
from the Senior Center is 2:30 p.m. Registration will take
place after they arrive. Be sure to call the center office if
you want to go.
Flu shots will be offered again on November 12,
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Morrow County Health Dept,
staff will be conducting the immunizations. Registration
will be in the common room, and shots are given in the
center office.
The next regular center board meeting will be
November 16, 12:30 p.m. in the center office. Planning for
a meaningful annual meeting will be one of the agenda items.
Vaccine available for lone students

The Morrow County Health Department will be
offering to lone Community School students (ages 11-18),
a combination Tetanus and Pertussis booster (Tdap). These
vaccinations will be available at the November 9th Flu
clinic, being held at the lone Fire Hall. This vaccine is
recommended to all 11-18 year olds, but is only being
offered to lone students at this time. It will later be made
available to all others of this age group when vaccine
supplies are available. lone students have been given
priority as a result of the recent suspect Pertussis cases in
the community.

suspect cases of Pertussis (whooping cough) in our school.
With their help we have been able to inform our parents
and students on how the disease is spread and have taken
precautions in the school to avoid additional cases. For

Melissa M artin and Benham Malcom
Benham Malcom and Melissa Martin were married
October 15.2005 in a small ceremony and reception aboard
the Chere Amie Yacht in Coronado, California. Benham
Malcom was originally from Heppner. Oregon and Melissa
Martin, originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. Benham is
employed by Commercial Properties as a Senior Marketing
Association for Commercial Real Estate. M elissa is
employed by AAA Auto Club Arizona as M arketing
Manager. The couple will reside in Chandler. Arizona.
