LAND USE HEARING
THE MORROW COUNTY
PLANNING COMMISSION
will hold the following hearing
of public interest on Wednes­
day, May 25, 2005, at 7:00
p m. at Stokes Landing Senior
Center in Irrigon, Oregon.
The second of at least three
hearings to consider the adop­
tion of an update to the Mor­
row County Transportation
System Plan as well as revi­
sions to the Morrow County
Zoning and Subdivision Ordi­
nances required to implement
the Transportation Plan. The
updated Transportation System
Plan (TSP) insures that the
County’s transportation net­
work will be able to serve the
entire County over the next 20
years. The proposed Zoning
and Subdivision Ordinance re­
visions include clarifications
for private road standards,
sight distance requirements,
site plan review requirements,
gravel road design standards,
updated access management
standards for County roads,
and applicable access manage­
ment descriptions for state
highways. The updated TSP
will also insure that the Coun­
ty is consistent with the require­
ments of the State of Oregon
Transportation Planning Rule.
Criteria for approval include
the Morrow County Compre­
hensive Plan and the Morrow
County Zoning Ordinance Ar­
ticle 8 Amendments Also to be
considered is the co-adoption of
the Transportation System
Plans for the Cities of Board-
man. Heppner. lone and Irrig­
on and the Town of Lexington
Co-adoption o f the City and
Town plans will allow the
County to apply city standards
in the Urban Growth Areas of
each community.
Opportunity to voice support
or opposition to the above pro­
posals or to ask questions will
be provided. Failure to raise an
issue in person or by letter or
failure to provide sufficient
specificity to afford the deci­
sion maker an opportunity to
respond to the issue precludes
appeal to the Land Use Board
of Appeals based on those is­
sues

available after May 18, 2005
