The Heppner High
School softball team had a

16 and won both games, 16-
1 and 23-3.

Oregon 4-H to select youth for
national 4-H forestry event
The O regon 4-H
Program is conducting a
statewide contest open to all
cu rren t 4-H m em bers to
select a 4-H forestry skills
team that will travel to West
Virginia later this year to
compete in a national 4-H
forestry event

holding a d ed icatio n
ceremony on April 29 at 1
p m at the turnaround at
City Park The dedication is
to recognize the April 2003
planting o f a scarlet oak tree
that replaced two Dutch elm
trees
The D utch elms
were originally planted in
1932 to com m em orate
George W ashington The
trees died o f D utch elm
disease in 1999, 67 years
after their planting, and at the
same age as Washington at
his death
Those interested in
sharing in this dedication and
commemoration are invited
to attend the ceremony.
