Mustang JVs down Tigers
Mustangs win two at Sherman Mustangs sweep Bulldogs

A week after giving
up 14 w alks and hitting
seven batters, three Heppner
Mustang JV pitchers teamed
up to walk just six and hit
two as they beat the visiting
Stanfield Tigers 10-3 on
M onday, A pril 4. The
Mustangs, now 5 and 0 on
the year, will be at home
against the Riverside Pirates
on Thursday, April 14 for a
doubleheader beginning at
3:30 p.m.
The Tigers took a 1-
0 lead in the top o f the
second, but the Mustangs
came back in the bottom half
to tie it as Colton Hanson
singled, stole second and
scored on a Ben McCarl
single
The T igers cam e
back with another run in the
top o f the third, but back
came the Mustangs with four
runs o f their own. Nathan
K ennedy doubled, Cody
Hollis had an RBI single,
Matt McCabe had an RBI
double, Nacho Elguezabal
singled, McCabe scored as
Hanson reached on an error
and Elguezabal scored as
Andre Rauch reached on an
error.
They came up with
two more in the fourth as
Hollis was hit by a pitch,
McCabe walked, Elguezabal
was hit by a pitch and Robbie
Smith doubled to score two

runs on two hits, striking out
two and walking two to pick
up the win.

for four with two RBI and
scored twice Hanson went
two for three, Hollis went
two for four, scoring three
runs, Smith had two RBI and
Kennedy and McCabe each
scored twice

St. Patrick’s Senior Center news
Volunteers from the
Heppner Christian Church
will host the April 20 noon
meal at St. Patrick’s Senior
Center. Pork chops with

potatoes, mixed vegetables,
Parker House rolls, cookies
and fruit juice are on the
menu for the day.

The annual 1000-
yard TV Shoot is scheduled
for Saturday, April 30. The
event will be held at the
Frank and Joe Halvorsen
Farm in lone
Registration is from
8:30-9:30 a m. Price for en
try is $20 per person.
The event will also
include an “All You Can Eat”
lunch, which is avaialble for
$6 per person and $3.50 for
kids 10 and under The meal
will include BBQ chicken
and ribs, hot dogs, baked
beans, potato salad and a
beverage
All proceeds will be
used to purchase children’s
prizes for the lone 4th of July

PROCLAMATION
This matter came before the
Morrow County Court at its regularly
scheduled meeting o f Morrow County Court, 2005,
to proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
W HEREAS,
every child deserves to live in a safe,
loving and caring family; and,
W HEREAS,
in the past year, more than 36 victims
of child abuse and neglect w ere re
ported in Morrow County. There w ere
20 threats of harm victims reported in
Morrow County.
W HEREAS,
prevention remains the best defense
for our children. W e must increase
public awareness about child abuse
and how w e can stop it. It takes a
collaborative effort among schools,
governm ent agencies, faith-based
organizations, com m unity groups,
businesses and law e n fo rcem en t
agencies to succeed in this effort.
T H E R E F O R E , the Morrow County Court, in asking
everyone to join together in protect
ing our children, issues the following
proclamation:
