Must have left some of cards at
luncheon meeting
To the Editor:
As I read the article
“ C om m issio n ers R eject
Residential Mental Health
Treatment Facility” in last
w eek’s Eastern Oregon, I
was confused, disappointed
and angry
1 am confused
because the article stated
that John Wenholz didn’t
think the facility would serve
enough o f the county with
only eight beds So does he
think our county would be
better served with no beds or
more beds?
I ’m d isap p o in ted
with Ray Grace’s “no vote,”
because I strongly agree with
him when he stated, “There
definitely is a need ”
Earlier this month
Ray Grace had given me a
list o f his questions and
concerns about the new
facility. I shared that list with
Kimberly Lindsay and she
explained the answers to
each and everyone one o f
those concerns. I was
confident
that
her
explanations would satisfy
the commissioners
I’m angry because
there are no “valid reasons”
that W enholz and G race
voted no. I think that they
either had a card up their
sleeves, which means they
weren’t playing fair, or they
just weren’t playing with a
full deck They must have
left some o f their cards at
th e ir luncheon m eeting
where only the two o f them
were playing.
