The Heppner Chamber gets some interesting, as
well as amazing, calls. Heppner has been identified as “The
number one best town to live in a mobile home,” according
to the AARP January Bulletin. Other states with towns listed
w ere K entucky, M ontana, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee,
Wisconsin, South Carolina, Missouri and Delaware. The
source looked for 10 places with plenty o f people age 50
and older and lots o f upscale manufactured housing They
then listed the Top 10 towns and corresponding median
value, with Heppner listed at $60,900 At this writing, the
Chamber office has had questions from Indiana, Idaho and
Utah The City is also getting calls. Is this one o f those
instances of, “I f you build it, they will com e?” And how
did they determine this? The jury is still out. We do have
some very nice manufactured homes and apparently people
are eager to m ove som ew here w ith our small tow n
ambience. Should we take it and run with it?
In the meantime, the Chamber will be marketing

Thursdays at 12 noon, or give a call to your Chamber office
