will be held on Sunday, Jan 16 from 8-9 a m at the Heppner
Church of the Nazarene All men are invited and encouraged

The purpose of the breakfast is to encourage men
to be better husbands, fathers and role models within their
communities The group uses Biblical principles for the
foundation of guidelines
The Men’s Breakfast is sponsored monthly by the
Heppner Christian Church, the Assemblies o f God Church
and the Church o f the Nazarene
The Willow Creek Symphony and Singers have
begun rehearsing for their spring concerts Rehearsals are
held on Tuesdays at the Heppner Elementary School band
room The Symphony rehearses from 6-7:30 p m., and the
singers rehearse from 7:30-8:30 p m.

seniors concerning Senior Advocacy Day and its purpose
She suggests ways seniors and those interested with long­
term senior care can address issues at the local level
Senior Advocacy Day, Jan 17, is a day, set aside
by the legislature, to hear from seniors and to listen to their
particular concerns Seniors from throughout the state of
Oregon will visit the legislature on that day to express their
concerns about OPI funds and RSVP, as well as Medicare
and Medicaid
Smith especially emphasizes the importance of
writing letters or postcards to be taken to Salem for
Advocacy Day.
On Thursday, Jan 13, at the Port o f Morrow, a
video conference is taking place with Rep Greg Smith (R-
Heppner), Shari Smith's husband, and Senator David
Nelson They are offering those not able to travel long
distances an opportunity to voice concerns personally and
on a local level A bus will be available to transport members
to the Port o f Morrow Shari Smith will facilitate the
conference The meeting will begin at 3 p m , with the video
conference beginning at 3:45 p m The meeting is for all o f
Morrow and Umatilla counties and will be an opportunity
to learn effective and personal ways o f communicating with
members o f the legislature Departure time for the bus to
