lone High School football placed seventh in the
Dairy Farmers o f Oregon Academic All-State program

“We have noticed a
decrease in contributions
from some o f our faithful
workplaces” according to
Lauren Dickey, United Way
director, “many folks who
are gainfully employed and
m otivated to donate are
experiencing the financial
crunch o f higher fuel and
utility prices, property taxes,
all types o f insurance and
trying to save for their kids’
education and their own
retirem en t along with
helping o ld e r fam ily
m em bers.
The
local
economy does not seem to
be ’out of the woods’ just yet
for working people ”
