St. Patrick’s Senior Center news
St Patrick’s Catholic Parish hosts the Wednesday,
Nov 3 noon meal at the St Patrick’s Senior Center They
will assist with serving a familiar late fall menu: sausage
patties and gravy, hash browns, orange slices and orange
juice, biscuits and pudding
Preparation for January election of board members
began at the regular board meeting on Oct 13. Three
positions are open for nominations for election, the
nominating committee members have begun interviews for
the openings The director o f volunteer services is
automatically a voting member of the board Judy Buschke
holds that position at the present time
In order to have terms o f office o f equal length and
staggered to prevent too many same year changes, members
will be elected for different lengths o f term for this one
election These lengths o f term are as follows: one person
elected for a two year term, one person elected for a three
year term; and one person elected for a four year term If
an interim appointment is necessary, it will be to fill out the
remainder o f that specific term The intent o f the policy is
to bring the board in compliance with the by-laws on the
subject o f term length
Judy Buschke and Ed Baker have sent out an urgent
call for new volunteer drivers. The need has become acute
on Wednesdays and Fridays Both have stated that services
may have to be curtailed if spots in the driving schedule
cannot be filled The Monday, Wednesday and Friday
service is to Hermiston for medical and legal appointments
A service for the same purposes is scheduled for Pendleton

If the student elects
the option of participating in
a drug assistance program,
the student will continue to
p ractice w ith the team /
group, but not participate in
any game/events during the
suspension. The minimum
length o f the suspension shall
be for three weeks (21 days),
which will carry over to the
next season of participation
if the schedule ends before
the th ree w eeks have
elapsed If the first session
o f the drug assistan ce
program has not occurred at
the end o f the three weeks,
the student will be suspended
from
p ractice
and
participation in events until
he/she has attended at least
