Meet the MC Fair and OTPR pennant bearers
MaKayla Anderson is
the 14-year-old daughter of
Larry and Marcia Anderson
of Boardman. She is back
again, proud to prom ote
M orrow County Fair and
Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo as
a Pennant Bearer at parades,
rodeos and fairs all across
Oregon. She enjoyed this
experience last year and this
year’s experience has even
been better. MaKayla, has a
12-year-old sister, Ashley,
who has been a great helper
in getting her horse ready.
MaKayla rides her eight-
year-old quarter horse mare.
Summer.
MaKayla is an eighth
grader at Columbia Middle
School in Irrigon. She is an
activ e fifth y ear 4-H
m em ber. Even though
MaKayla has been kept busy
as a pennant bearer, she still
has had time to prepare a
market steer for this year's
fair. MaKayla is a member
o f the B oardm an D esert
Pegasus 4-H Horse Group
w here she c o m p etes in
W estern and E nglish

Equitation classes. MaKayla
also excels in sewing skills
where she has won many
honors over the years.
MaKayla also participates in
the 4-H c re ativ e arts
projects.
MaKayla thanks all of
the sponsors who have made
this y e ar’s experience so
successful.
Amanda Kennedy is
the 14-year-old daughter of
Kevin and Tracie Kennedy,
and Tami K ennedy of
Boardman. She has spent
this summer serving as a
P ennant B earer for the
Morrow County Fair and
Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo.
Amanda just finished
eighth grade at Columbia
Middle School where she
,
maintained a 4.0 C.PA. She
is also very active in sports,
participating in volleyball
and basketball.
In the years past she
has been active in 4-H
raising lambs and cooking.
A m anda esp ecially
enjoys getting out into the
community and talking to
people.
She says she has had
fun this summer with her
horse. T rooper, and her
sister, OTPR Queen Lexi,
traveling all over the state of
Oregon. “It’s been so much
fun going to other rodeos
and parades advertising for
our fair and rodeo,” says
Amanda. “I hope you can
come and enjoy our Fair and
Rodeo.”
