4-H Snack Shack major income
source for Leaders Council
The 4-H Snack Shack produces the major source of
income for the Morrow County 4-H Leaders Council. The
council uses this income to provide such programs as 4-H
camp, 4-H Teen Leadership Retreat, and materials for all 4-
H program areas. The Leaders Council also funds many
fair awards. All 4-H members benefit from the proceeds
that are earned by the Snack Shack. Many 4-H leaders help
in the Snack Shack at fair. They do this because they
understand how important the proceeds are to the 4-H
program. But, the leaders are so busy at fair it is not right to
ask them to take care of their 4-H club and then work even
longer in the Snack Shack.
Parents of 4-H members, this is an opportunity for
you to help your children and your child’s 4-H leader.
Volunteer to help in the Snack Shack. Listed below are the
different communities and the respective day managers.
Please call them and volunteer to help at the Snack Shack.
If you can’t help the day your community is responsible for
the Snack Shack, just volunteer to help whenever you can.

Awards program planned August 21
Do you ever feel
there is too much emphasis
placed on what is wrong
with youth today? Here is
your chance to see what is
great about Morrow County
youth — attend the Morrow
County Fair Awards
program, Saturday, August
21, at 4:30 p.m. in the
Wilkinson Arena. The
Awards Program is a must
for 4-H youth, parents and
leaders and anyone who
enjoys young people.
All fair categories
are recognized at the Awards
Program, 4-H and open
class. It is always fun to see
youth receive the traditional
“Grand Champion” and
“Outstanding....” awards.
But is also fun to see
younger members receive
the “Champion Junior
Cookie Baker” or “Most
Enthusiastic Beginner
Livestock Member” awards.
Most awards are
purchased by the Morrow
County 4-H Leaders
Council with funds raised by
volunteers through the
donor campaign or Snack
Shack operation. These
awards are separate from
fair premium awards.
Every youth who
completes
project
requirements, registers for
fair on time, and competes
is a winner. Encourage
