CCB to visit Senior Center
A representative from the
O regon C onstruction
Contractors Board (CCB) w ill
be visiting the Heppner Senior
C enter during lunch o h
Wednesday, March 17. The
CCB is the licensing agency
for all construction
contractors.
The CCB is advising
senior homeowners to protect
themselves this winter by hiring
only CCB licensed contractors
and being skeptical of home
repair businesses that solicit
door-to-door or by telephone.
The most com m on cold
weather scams? Roof repairs,
furnace and duct cleaning, tree
removal, gutter cleaning,
mobile home repairs and
chimney sweeping/cleaning.
While most licensed
contractors are legitimate,
homeowners need to call the
CCB and ask for a
contractor’s licease and claims
history before handing over
money or signing a contract.
